Big thing is getting it on straight. Step 1: clean the screen, get any dust, fingerprints, etc. off. Peel and fold back the layer with the red Step 1 tab. Make sure to line-up the edges perfectly since the cover is more or less exactly the same size as the glass... if you don't, the cover will lay over the edge and you'll never get it flat, and it will look like crap. Call me a perfectionist, but after 3 attempts at installing these, (they come three to a pack and three times the charm as it turns out,) the final post install condition has exactly two possible results: utter beauty, or total ship. The only way to get to a beautacious result is to get it lined up perfectly, and entrap no dust or air. Otherwise, well you get three tries, since there are three of them. The provided plastic squeegee was not stiff enough for me, so I used a credit card. I didn't get it perfectly straight, but it is okay. I have one very small bubble that I don't even notice during use. I am very pleased with the quality. I use my Thrive in fluorescent lit offices sharing with customers and very often the glare was a real problem. However, the glare is decreased 50% or more and makes it non-issue. I don't understand why Toshiba doesn't put this stuff on the screen in the first place. If you are concerned about sensitivity to touch, that is also not a problem. BUT....can not for the life of me put screen protector on without trapping air bubbles between protector and screen. Bubbles are annoying during day time use. Not as visible in darkness. Might try a different brand next time. |
